Toray Industries, the world leader in carbon fiber production, has been active in Europe for more than thirty years, manufacturing and marketing TORAYCA carbon fiber solutions through its French subsidiary, which was the first company of the Group to work in this sector outside Japan.

At the start of 2012, Toray Industries took full control of its French subsidiary which manufactures and markets carbon fibers, now known as Toray Carbon Fibers Europe. This major unifying move demonstrates the confidence Toray Industries has in the future of the European market and its faith in the local organisation.

Over many years, the French subsidiary has forged a reputation as a leader by listening to the market's expectations, in the quality of its products, and the reliability and finesse of its production processes. High levels of customer service have also always been a priority.

Toray Industries' ambition now is to pursue its European strategy through its subsidiary, by :

- Continuing to develop its carbon fiber production capacities on its French site, to keep up with demand from the European market and to strengthen its position as a leader.

- Developing its upstream and downstream activities, particularly in the production of prepreg materials for aeronautics and composites.

- Establishing a more structured approach towards innovation and customer technical support by the European organisation.

Toray Industries' industrial commitment is clearly demonstrated by its desire to establish new and additional production capabilities in Europe within its French subsidiary, in order to serve the European composites market as an integrated European player.

Toray Carbon Fibers Europe will be there, listening to its customers, increasing its understanding of their needs, and analysing the potential of the markets. This means it will be able to respond more realistically to the expectations of the market, continuing to grow, making the right decisions on what to develop, enhancing its future prospects.
